your artist style at a Carol Pace Workshop
Friday, August 26, 5:30-9pm
Saturday, August 27 & Sunday,
August 28, 9am-5pm
Fee: $85.00 (three sessions)
This
workshop, hosted by award-winning artist Carol Pace, will introduce
beginning students to the fundamentals and help the advanced student explore
the possibilities of watercolor and drawing. Pace has been painting since she
was a young girl. She grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas and attended the
Memphis Art Academy. She has developed a style of vivid color and
looseness over many years of study and experimenting with new ideas. She
started as a commercial artist, now works as a professional artist and exhibits
regularly. Pace is a member of the Hoover Watercolor Society and was chosen
among the top 100 artists in America during Art Prospect '97 in La Jolla,
California. Her painting "The Lady and the Fish" was chosen as second place by
Zoltan Szabo in this competition.
The Friday evening
session will focus on contour drawing techniques; students will draw from a
live model. Students will learn some of Pace’s Colored Water techniques and
implement their contour drawing skills on Saturday and Sunday. To view Pace’s
