Crawford County's

Center For Art & Education Celebrates 29th Birthday August 7th

Enjoy the potpourri of styles, subjects and mediums offered by the “Lunch Bunch” painters at the Sunday, August 7th opening from 1 to 4 p.m.  This August opening is especially important because it celebrates the CAE’s 29th birthday.
The Lunch Bunch is open to all painters, including those working on their own projects and those who choose to paint the still life set-ups provided at the CAE. Still life subjects range from flowers the artists bring from their gardens to interesting pottery or favorite objects for all to enjoy. New painters are encouraged to express themselves and experienced painters are always ready to share their knowledge when asked.
As a fund-raiser for the CAE, they collect a small fee for the lunch that is provided by members. This money is used to purchase library books and as a bereavement fund for CAE.
The group meets on Wednesdays in September to June from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an open studio and paints plain-air or at a member’s home during the month of July. New members are welcome to join.  Come by during the month of August and enjoy the works of theses artist.  You may just find the perfect art piece for your home or office.
Twenty months of work and organization went into the first Crawford County Historical Quilt which was the vishion of Janalou Devers. This quilt was designed by Winona Bishop, the quilt consist seventeen blocks and was constructed by twelve area quilters.  The historic, detailed story of Crawford County is now captured in a beautiful quilt.  The quilt will be part of the August show and will be on display through August 26.
